Watersong

WATERSONG is a genre-defying call to action, and a musical collaboration born from a fellowship from PolicyLink's Water Equity and Climate Resilience Caucus, an assembly of environmental justice activists from around the country.

Monica Lewis-Patrick is the President of We the People of Detroit, known to many as “The Water Warrior”, on the frontlines of the national water affordability crisis. Her speech sampled here was originally delivered at Earthwork Detroit 2019.

Amber Hasan is an author, artist, and activist from Flint, Michigan. Amber is the host of the Loud Mouth Ghetto Girl podcast and a member of the Earthwork Music Collective.

Seth Bernard composed and recorded this music at Earthwork Farm, between the Muskegon and Manistee River watersheds, on Anishinaabe land, with help from longtime friend Andy Catlin, a.k.a. The Lasso.
